  1. Lol at pulling Siegrist against a righty to bring in Broxton. Most of the times managers don't matter that much but Matheny does suck. The success the Cardinals have had with him really does illustrate how little a manager matters as long as they are fine in the clubhouse.
  2. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 06:06 PM) Not that concerned long season. And it's not like he will stay healthy this year anyways.
  3. So Matheny does realize that Siegrist is f***ing awful against lefties right?
  4. That was the worst 2-1 swing I've ever seen.
  5. Any chance Holliday actually has a decent at bat? I tend to think no.
  6. QUOTE (daa84 @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 05:47 PM) not sure I understand the approach the cards have taken to a lot of Cubs hitters. First pitch fastball away to Baez is about the only thing I don't throw him. 4 straight breaking balls to a lefty who dives out over the plate? Gotta bust rizzo in at least once per AB Agreed but that was just an awful pitch. Cruz wanted that pitch way off the plate.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 05:46 PM) Terrible pitching ever since Lackey miracle in game 1 The Cubs lineup is obviously solid but it has really been incredible how bad the Cardinals pitchers have looked. They are consistently missing their spots by a lot. Now to be fair, a team like the Sox might not take advantage of it because they aren't patient but there have just been an incredible amount of breaking balls and fastballs left in places that are easy for a hitter to hit hard.
  8. What an awful f***ing 0-2 pitch.
  9. Cardinals pitching staff actually needs to have a shutdown inning for a change now.
  10. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 05:34 PM) Nice play by soler. Don't blame cards for sending him. Agreed. Took a really good throw and a terrible slide by Cruz to get him. Sending him was the right call with 2 outs.
  11. I am beyond shocked that Cruz actually came through there.
  12. Back to back horrendous at bats.
  13. Terrible by Grichuk. That pitch was never in the zone.
  14. And after calling a super tight zone for both sides the entire game the ump gives Grimm a huge zone in that at bat.
  15. Terrific decision by Matheney to bring back John Lackey on 3 days rest to get 3 bad innings out of him.
  16. I'm surprised Cruz even hit .200 this year. That dude is garbage.
  17. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 04:48 PM) So bunting with Wong backfired. They didn't bunt with Wong. He showed bunt on the first pitch and didn't attempt it again.
  18. I hate the idea of bunting with Wong here with Cruz on deck.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 04:16 PM) I really don't get why Garcia wasn't available. The get me over breaking ball to Hammel on strike 1 can't happen.
  20. And decision to pitch Lackey on 3 days rest already looks terrible.
  21. It wouldn't have mattered tonight but lol at Mattingly benching Seager after 2 bad games to play the corpse of Jimmy Rollins. So ridiculously stupid but to be expected with Mattingly.
  22. Arrieta pulled. Wow.
  23. f*** yeah Heyward.
  24. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 06:51 PM) At least it's only 4-2. Wacha was lucky to only give up that many. He has been garbage for a month now and was awful from the first batter tonight.
  25. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 06:46 PM) Fixed I wouldn't have even had him start the 5th. And as I write that he gives up a two run home run.
