http://ww2.7online.com/global/video/popup/...=8&rnd=51992696 Compassionate conservative kicking a protester and then lying about it. The next generation of neo-conservatives is learning their lessons fast -- learning how to be hypocritical liars.

There aren't mass robberies and crackheads all throughout the streets of the US? At least the Netherlands gives clean needles to addicts and caused drug usage to go down by legalizing drugs.

Police Tazer Guy Trying to Go Home

Keep defending cops who beat handcuffed people. I'm not saying King was a saint by any means but there is no defense for cops who beat the s*** out a guy who is already handcuffed. -
Police Tazer Guy Trying to Go Home

The Florida police at the FTAA protests acted with a lot of unprovoked force. http://www.salon.com/src/ads/house/gateway...e/index_np.html You gotta watch a 15 sec. ad to see the whole article but it's a good article. -
Several statutory insurance schemes exist to make care financially accessible for everyone. There are various types of insurance covering hospital care, GP consultations and paramedical care, which together account for 43% of all expenditure on care. About 60% of the Dutch population is compulsorily insured with public health insurance funds. The government determines the cover provided and the income-linked contribution. People who earn too much to be publicly insured have to take out private insurance. Private insurance companies set their own premiums, generally based on the risk of illness. A special private insurance scheme ensures affordable care for the elderly and the chronically ill. A new health insurance system will be introduced in 2006, consisting of a single compulsory standard insurance scheme for curative care. There will no longer be a distinction between public and private health insurance. The new system will make health care more efficient and customer-oriented. from: http://www.minbuza.nl/default.asp?CMS_ITEM=MBZ426386

Amsterdam -- where I'm moving later in life. And really if the terrorists hated freedom, wouldn't Amsterdam and the Netherlands be dust by now?

Police Tazer Guy Trying to Go Home

Yeah and with Rodney King, read the LAPD chatter that consisted of "Beat the n*****!" and "Kick the n*****'s Ass" amongst other racial epithets. Posse Comitatus is being eroded away and that's not good for anybody. I'm simply saying that a police force recently known for unprovoked brutality does not get the benefit of the doubt in my eyes. -

Police Tazer Guy Trying to Go Home

Nuke, you don't know if he tried blowing past the checkpoint or not. All you know is that he tried to get past (there is no video or knowledge about the speed he was going) When the video starts, he is completely stationary, dragged out of his car and gets tazered. I failed to see where he was being non-compliant with the cops that would necessitate them tazering him. Typical of Nuke to defend the military/police even though the same force has been notoriously known for abuses. -

Actually it's not a lefty website. It's a pretty far right Libertarian web page. (Alex Jones is a right wing Libertarian) The guy in the vid was not throwing punches or anything at the cops. Having a bunch of cops pull the guy out of the car and hold him down tazering him isn't gonna make him any calmer. And in the same condacending way, CK, in America people are innocent until proven guilty. So, I'm giving the guy in the car the benefit of the doubt, especially after police abuses in Florida recently (see the FTAA protests in Florida and the extreme police abuses there) -

Their job was to pull him out of his car and tazer his ass until he was convulsing? Telling him to stop and turn around is one thing but to have a gang of cops pull him out of the car and tazer him is a completely different thing. -
http://www.prisonplanet.com/articles/augus...opsusetaser.htm Officers in hurricane-ravaged Fort Myers used a Taser gun on a man allegedly trying to get by a police barrier to get home, and it was caught on tape. A crowd formed around the scene and voices can be heard yelling, "Leave him alone," "That is so wrong," and "Come on man, he's frustrated."

PHJ, I'd also add the assassinations by the neo-Nazi group, the Order to your list. Not to mention Carlos the Jackal or the terror wrought by the Medellin cartel, South American right wing paramilitary death squads, left wing rebel groups like AZN/FARC, the military of the Partido Revoluccionario Institutional and the Zapatistas in Mexico. That's just a few examples of violence that is non-Muslim that I could think of off the top of my head. (Not calling it all terrorism because I believe that the Zapatistas and the FARC have a somewhat legitimate fight on their hands...but the means that they do it are not always in agreeance with me.)

C'mon...nobody appreciated my attempt to lighten the mood with the Dr. Strangelove reference?

Pfft. Facts. Those can be used to prove anything.

Nuke, as CrimsonWeltall said

The Russians have a history of not informing people about very important things. Take this example: Of course, the whole point of a Doomsday Machine is lost, if you *keep* it a SECRET! Why didn't you tell the world, eh?

http://www.realcities.com/mld/krwashington/9556221.htm If they believe the war is so just and necessary, then wouldn't it make sense for them to back it up by going and fighting? Let's hear it for a new generation of neo-conservative chickenhawks. I guess it's easy for them to be a hawk when they're rallying for other peoples' children to be put in the line of fire. And Nuke, correct me if I am wrong but a lot of the pre-war analysis by heads of the military in Congressional reports said that we need many more troops over in Iraq than we have to do a fully successful occupation campaign, correct?

Judge Orders Release of Hundreds of RNC Protesters
LowerCaseRepublican replied to LowerCaseRepublican's topic in SLaM
If a judge releases hundreds of protesters finding merit with the idea that they were really not protesters and just caught in the giant orange nets that the NYPD were using to round up people, then there is a lot of credence to the idea that some innocent people got arrested and detained. Nuke, I highly doubt that all 250,000+ people beat up that one cop. And hey, the NYPD version of events may not be exactly what happen. I'm not saying that the dumbasses didn't beat him up but I don't accept the police version as Gospel, especially a force who has been hit with previous lies in the past re: Amadou Diallo and the sodomizing of a detainee with a plunger handle. And CK, don't put what a few dumbasses do on the entire protest. I'd guess it was Black Bloc dumbasses from what you've stated on it and the Black Bloc is widely dispised by most anti-globalist protesters and organizations. -
