I got this in my e-mail a few days ago. I know legalization is something that even RPS agrees with me on, so it's not that radically leftist. A five time Pro Bowler, Mark played in the NFL from 1989 until 2001, splitting his time between the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Oilers. After his retirement, he made the brave and risky move of becoming one of the first sports figures to publicly support marijuana law reform. Mark has also created and leads a Texas chapter of NORML [National Organization Reforming Marijuana Laws] LEGALIZE IT!

I'm just waiting for the CIA to come get me. I'd bring up COINTELPRO, the Black Panther assassinations, the bombing of MOVE headquarters, the preventative detentions occurring now, etc. to show that there are violent government repercussions but anyway... Is there a way we can just get rid of all our politicans and put in an entire new batch?

Neither. Usually just water but if I need energy or need to stay up, then it's all about Mountain Dew.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY On this day of independence, let us reflect upon the fact that so many of us free people live with iron bars on their doors and windows or live in gated communities. Let us reflect upon the fact that cocaine laws in the "land of equality" disproportionately target minorities [crack cocaine posession gets a 4 times as long sentence as opposed to powder cocaine] The "war on drugs" puts thousands of non-violent offenders in prison while state prisons like Kentucky are letting out VIOLENT FELONS to make room for kids who posess marijuana. The land of the free has been denied marijuana, a proven medicine in numerous tests throughout the world. We've been subjected to the PATRIOT Act where our joyous Constitutional rights have been subverted so the police can search without warrants, preventative detentions without charges, etc. Let us rejoice in our glorious experiment of democracy where less than 1/2 the voting age population even votes anymore. [Not to mention the 90,000+ voters removed from the roles in Florida because of crimes committed in the future, etc.] For a country that can feed the entire world and make sure nobody starves, we have a huge hunger problem. For the nation of prosperity, the world's only superpower has 43 million+ without ability to get basic health care and over 35 million live in poverty. For a nation that prides itself on free press, but in actuality, the media is owned and concentrated by 5 companies. Let us reflect that in our land of freedom that more people lock themselves away in their homes and keep guns by their side to blow away anybody that may or may not be a threat. A police force that shoots people for having "weapons" like a TV remote, a candy bar and a wallet [and shooting 47 rounds] believing them to be guns. Governors like Bill Clinton that allowed cocaine shipments to land in Arkansas and then blocked investigations into it. In the nation of free expression, we live in a time where there are growing symptoms of fascism in that those who protest the regime are called "anti-American" and those who disrespect the national deity aka the flag are seen as treasonous criminals. America, loved the republic but hate the empire. Here's to making this country a better place for all of us.

$0 in the latest budget for that. Donald Rumsfeld when asked about that said "We lowballed it."

He was also on trial for domestic violence and stuff as well, correct?

I vote B [you could have made this a poll too, haha] If I remember correctly, Pat Robertson of the Christian Coalition is good friends with the dictator of Liberia because Pat owns lots of gold mines there. It's also been shown that he used Operation Blessing money to ship mining supplies to his own gold mines. So Patty Pat will probably be against this involvement of US forces. And let Johnny Storm, inaugurate the flame war that is going to proceed. And really we shouldn't invade MORE countries and depose their governments until we get the "Countries rebuit to governments overthrown" ratio a bit closer to 1.

There is a Constitutional right to redress the government with grievances. Declaring that doing that is wrong is, essentially, pissing on the Constitution. It's not that they were disagreeing with ME, but disagreeing with the text in the Constitution. The irony that they did this at the memorial of a soldier who took the oath: "I, [name here], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same." It was also ironic because some of them were veterans as well, so they did violate their own oath. That is what I was commenting about.
-
They were expressing their constitutional given right to freedom of speech. Just like you do here. I guess if they disagree with with you then they are pissing on the Constitution. I never said that they COULDN'T say that. I just found it quite ironic that they were saying it.

I think showing the hypocricy of the Bush administration was the funny aspect of the cartoon. I also think that the main point of it was to express the shock and outrage in a dark sort of way as to grasp peoples' attention to the topic and show how sickening Bush and the GOP's plan really is.
-
A kid in our neighborhood [25 years old] died over there recently. I was planning on going to the memorial for him, but I passed and it was filled with duffed up militaristic guys discussing how it was "Un-American to protest" and "Un-American to question Bush". So I went back home. The kid was in the military to uphold the Constitution and here these people are pissing all over it. It's sad that there have been over 200 deaths already in this and we, according to Donald Rumsfeld, are going to be there for "some time". Now, what were they fighting for? There has been no tangible, sustainable TRUE reason that we are fighting over there.

FD had a great premise, but the way they made the kills was just cheesier than f***. They could have banked and made it a totally great film, but they f***ed it up BIG TIME. I saw FD and took my experience from that to not subject myself to FD 2. I watch movies, but I screen usually for good ones and watch those because so much of what is out there is total s***. [Legally Blonde 2, etc. etc. etc.] At school, we get a closed circuit DVD station set up in the building so I usually watch whatever is playing on there plus my collection of DVD's. And since we're on the topic of movies, has anybody seen Natural Born Killers? Is it any good and worth watching?

That was a beautiful leadoff triple by Harris to end up scoring the first run of the game.

I think the point of his comic was to be morbid. I mean how is the Bush GOP fest at NYC near where 9/11 took place any less morbid than the commentary about Gacy, Speck, etc.? Bush and Co. are cashing in on the deaths of those 3000+ people for more popularity. You all seem to be outraged that TT would suggest Bush cashing in on the deaths of Gacy, Speck, etc. for popularity but don't seem to mind the fact that he IS GOING TO cash in on the deaths of 9/11 for GOP popularity. Be outraged at Bush, not TT.

I have seen 8 films on that list. And surprisingly, did not make the list. This was the worst film I have ever had the displeasure of sitting through. Although it is pretty funny at times. And I'm not alone, here's what a critic said as well and I thoroughly agree. "So painflully bad that viewing it will convince you that suicide should be legalized in all fifty states."

Loaiza is 11-3 and yet people are doubting him because he loses an occasional game? THE MAN IS NOT INVINCIBLE. He is a human being. We have enough to worry about with a s***ty GM, a s***tier owner, etc. etc. We do not need to waste time wondering if a guy who has pretty regularly been kicking ass and taking names is losing it because he gave up 4 runs in 7 IP. Let's just focus on the ACTUAL problems the Sox are facing and not the paranoid delusions. His ERA is under 3, for f***'s sake. He doesn't need to be doubted like this. I agree with you completely Molto.

DJ came back to play after an accident...the physical training that went into that is to be admired. However, he seems at least to me that he just doesn't give a damn that much about playing. Watching him play recently, he seems like he doesn't want to be there and doesn't seem to have the flair for actually wanting to play this game with desire and intensity. He's got, in my opinion, the lax mentality that we are always bashing Jerry Manuel for having. In the 2nd game against the Cubs, he had a chance to run out a ball and he stopped. The lack of hustle shows he doesn't wanna bust his ass and give 110% to the team and racking up the wins. Everybody is entitled to ups and downs from time to time. No person is on fire all the damn time. I mean, even .391 batting Pujols went 1 for 9 in the last two games until going 4 for 6 today. Hell, everybody was giving Dorn s*** and it should be known that he is hitting approx .360 since getting recalled June 10. The fact is that we can use a more solid 2B. I think a lot of the anger just in general is that this team looked so f***ing great on paper and is below .500, not sweeping teams we should have swept, etc. And crow isn't always the most tasty thing to eat either.

I talk baseball from time to time however I am currently on a short vacation so I have had my Sox baseball viewing limited.

Aw, nobody finds this the least bit funny? Maybe it's a little too true or something?
