  1. Yeah, that is like one pulled hamstring.
  2. At least we would finally finish first at something. Though I guess the incompetence that led us here has led the league for quite some time. Can't wait to win 68 games this year.
  3. I want to believe so badly that they will pivot to Harper, but everything I have seen and heard says your big acquisition this offseason is Yonder Alonso and his career OPS of .740 at 1B. Gosh. I can't wait.
  4. If they can't as an organization guarantee 300M, then they have a 0% chance of signing Bryce.
  5. Yeah, this was probably the exact contract that was most speculated. It would have been that exact number.
  6. We'll go after premium talent, and acquire their friends, but we won't get them, because we can't be expected to pay for it, but trust me, we will try so hard. What crap.
  7. Not trying to cut down Manny at all, I am just confused by the sentiment in general. If we are putting this on one player, I think Washington did fairly well record wise with Bryce. I just don't get the Machado is wins but Harper is just marketing angle.
  8. I wonder if Baltimore and DC would agree with that sentiment.
  9. Has to be 50 pages in this thread of this post.
  10. Only 600 or so pages to go...
  11. You're just trying to justify your ridiculous ratio! I know your tricks!
  12. Or Rosnethal. Or Heyman. Or Passan. Or Wetbutt. Or Dan Clark. Or J. Michael. Or some other dude I have no idea currently exists.
  13. I want what he says to be true, so I am willing to abandon all reason and thought. We're getting both!!!!!! Probably!!!!!! Maybe!!!!!! Cmon...
  14. Another home run on the thread title. You guys are killing it.
  15. Yeah, again, not really looking at this as a long term piece for the Sox (or even a piece). I was thinking of it more like buying prospects. I am having a hard time seeing his market right now. Where is this big long term contract with a contender coming from? There hasn't even been any smoke about anything relating to Kimbrel other than him being laughed out of negotiations when he was asking for 100 million. There is a 100% chance some team will need a dominant closer at the deadline. Now, I have no idea what offers he has, I haven't heard anything. But if he doesn't have what he is looking for, maybe a 1/20 deal with an option or something (vests if traded???) would make sense for him. Anyways I'm glad this got me through page 666.
  16. Yeah, that's why I said as a 1 year high AAV deal as trade bait. Was that not clear?
  17. I wonder where his market is right now. If he would take a one year high AAV deal, I'd be all over that. He would be quite the trade bait. Even at an inflated rate, he would be in huge demand. Heck, I am already willing to bet the Red Sox and cubs will need pen help at the deadline.
  18. What???????? Putting this on the calendar for next season.
  19. I am to the point of never expecting it... so tomorrow?
  20. Yep. The timing was less than ideal.
  21. I don't believe innings have anything to do with it. Kopech was on the MLB roster when he was injured, so his time is MLB service time.
  22. It is a shame no one gives a crap about their own credibility.
  23. There in is the negotiation. Opt outs are in the players favor, so is front loading the contract. It would have to be up to the player/agent to decide which is more valuable. Because a situation with 40 AAV on the first couple years doesn't make any sense with an opt out in years 3-4 or 5.
