Get to know RHP Dylan Covey

Featured Replies

One of our writers, Kim Contreras, got to know Dylan Covey over the last few years. So when the Sox selected him in the Rule 5, we asked her to write him up.

Here is your background on Dylan Covey. Lots of info in here, more than just a scouting report.

If Sox could keep Ariel Nieto around all year in 2017 this should not be an issue.

Good read. I was less than impressed when this was first announced, but that write-up makes me think the Sox may have found a decent arm that should be fairly easy to keep around through the season.

What a trip it is that he was selected the pick after Sale :o

Kim seems sweet on Dylan.

I hope she is right. Lot of garbage time this year to give him some innings. I think his stuff would really have to be short to get offered back

As a fellow Type 1 I am rooting heavily for him. Oh plus he is on the Sox now. Let's go Bete Bro!

Well, it certainly appears they don't expect a 40 man roster crunch. It's a fire. sale.

Well, for starters, Ariel Nieto has a lot of different faces and takes a lot of different selfies that end up on a Google Image search. Also, Adrian Nieto was a backup catcher. Finally, if Covey shows 2 pitches with major league movement, and he can soak innings, he's going to be a member of the White Sox in the long run.
