What's up with Saladino?

I'm nearly certain you were among the people who thought Saladino was a nice piece but not a starter on a WS contender. I could be wrong, though.

I don't think anyone thought he was a "start on a WS contender". But he is a nice player that couldn't easy man 2B and bat 8th on a playoff team. He is not elite by any means, but he plays great D and has flexibility. Winning teams need guys like that. I don't think many people thought he was more than that.

I was. But I feel no need to celebrate a kid who could have been having a breakout season to prove us wrong having a potentially career altering back injury.

I thought he was a definite starter. I thought he showed good power for a second baseman and had a clue at the plate and could actually hit .300 in the big leagues with excellent production. This year convinced me I was wrong. He was pathetic before he got hurt.

He had been hurt all year, and was playing through it. I wouldn't worry too much about his 2017 performance for that reason.
