Realistic expectations for Gavin Sheets?

Featured Replies

What are some of the realistic expectations for Gavin Sheets this season, and going forward? At this point in his career, is he viewed as a top prospect that should make an immediate impact at the MLB level, or is he at the level of having strong potential, good tools, and we still have to give him some time?

Hopefully he can make it to Birmingham. Hopefully have an average around .280 with better pop than he showed in last year (though it was a long season for him, maybe he was tired). I'm excited for berger, him and Gonzalez from last years class

It would be nice if he could find a defensive position that actually had some value.

He is a big boy. Maybe you could get him to play LF a la Adam Dunn, but with his speed (35 grade) I think we should just be happy if he can stick at 1B.

For him to get my attention power will need to be there now and a healthy k rate. He's old enough and a 1b so I'm not going to wait for much from him.

I remember he got a real nice comparison on Draft day

Dan O'Dowd gave Sheets a comp of Lucas Duda.
