DoH! Well while we're at it I'll throw Hahn and KW under the bus too.

We will back the bus up for them.

I have an answer for you but I'd probably be accused of being a grouchy old coot (not by you of course). The nicest thing I can say is it's runaway extra year of controlitis.  Might be time for a new

  • Yeah it's the year of complaining. Moncada sucks, Anderson sucks, Giolito sucks, Abreu sucks and Lopez is not a starter. Did I miss anyone?

So the answer is no you couldn't name a few guys that fit my criteria. He didn't make it to free agency which is what I asked for. So the extra year of control doesn't matter, even though you arrogantly stated that having the extra year meant so much and was so simple to understand.

Your criteria is flawed honestly. What does it matter whether they stayed on the same team? The A's were a lousy team so they traded Street. Do you expect the White Sox to be lousy? With starters going less deep into games and the way relievers are used in the playoffs, keeping them the extra year is helpful. Saying "the extra year of control doesn't matter" is ridiculous. 6 is more than 5. It is really that simple. If he is a stud, would you want him an extra year?

The Sox have a history of extending their relievers, this is not a big deal. Also, the Sox are going to get 6 years from Hamilton anyway.

It;s not flawed because your original post complained that he was brought up and it wasted the extra year of control and that doesn't apply to the Sox if they don't keep him for the whole 6 or 7 years. It might matter slightly to the team acquiring him but that would depend on when he's traded and how good he is at the time 'And if it was so flawed why not tell me that right away instead of just now. You had the chance to say that before you answered the question. Let's face it you're pretty close to being alone in griping that an extra year of control makes much of a difference for relievers. Are you going to whine about it for every freaking prospect brought up in September from now on ? After all you never know who might out play there projections .It's just ridiculous.
