September 6, 20187 yr I don't understand what this is rewarding: Quote Given annually to the top pitching prospect in baseball, the Pitcher of the Year award is voted on by the MLB Pipeline staff. Players must have spent at least half the season in the Minor Leagues to be considered. So is he the top pitching prospect now or is he being rewarded for pitching best?

I believe it is for the best performance this year. This has nothing to do with potential which is a part of the top prospect voting.
