  • I don't get this game, but this stat line for Lopez really stands out. 6 IP, 3 BB, 2 H, 10 Ks.  Remember how we were talking about how his ERA was dramatically better than his peripherals in part

  • Nice k of ohtani

Dnmn u quoted me before I could edit it to 6 innings not 7.

Lol - as a favor to you, I went and deleted that response, and will just reiterate here what an impressive performance we saw from Lopez today!

I don't understand the answer, Frank never used PED's.

He's saying that Frank Thomas was the only player taking a public stand against PED use and turning that into a statement by the organization against PED use. I believe the first post, that the org is happy to take on players like Cabrera even when they shouldn't, is much more accurate. The public statements by Frank made the organization look good because he was in this organization doing the right thing, but that doesn't mean the organization was doing the right thing.

Remember how we were talking about how his ERA was dramatically better than his peripherals in part because of too many walks and too few Ks? Even ignoring the shutout part, those Ks really look good.

That was my intent when mentioning the Big Hurt and you may be right about the organization hierarchy but I would hope that isn’t their response to just look the other way

Disappointing or aggravating to see the relief corp mess up a great game by Lopez

He said the organization has taken a hard line against PEDs in response to a question about CaSTtillo. Frank Thomas is not the answer and is not part of the organization and hasn't been for a while. Frank Thomas has nothing to do with any current stance on PEDs one way or the other. I know why he said Frank Thomas I just don't understand what it had to do with the current price of tea in China.

Nice high fastball by Minaya for the K, quick release & strong throw to third by Castillo, and a nifty tag put on by Rondon.

C'mon Daniel game there for the winning .

Santiago is a walk machine. Bases loaded on Walks!

Typical Renteria waits until the bases are loaded to change pitchers when it was obvious that Santiago did not have it today.

Things getting a tad bit interesting at the ‘ol ballpark right now...

Can someone explain to.me why Kevin Smith is the pinch runner?

Castillo is worth less than nothing.

Those pitches with those results are the difference between having Delmonico on your team in this situation vs Eloy...

Nicky forgot that you have to swing the bat

What makes you think that Eloy would not have struck out?

I don’t think Delmonico’s split against lefties is very good

Not sure about 2018 but for his minor league career + 2017, he's the same exact hitter against lefties as he is against righties

Yea, that's 5 great losses in a row, all at home, all against mediocre teams.

Um, 2 hanging sliders down the middle?

and with San Diego winning a tie for 3rd pick

As if that makes that much of a difference.  As an organization, we still can't pick and develop draft choices nearly as well as most of the successful teams in MLB.  As an example, of our 5 starting pitchers, only one (Rodon) was a draft pick.  We had to trade to get the others, relying on teams who knew what they were doing in the MLB Draft.

It is hard to do anything on offense when you're down 0-1, 0-2 all day long. I know it hurt not to have Abreu playing, but that was a minor league lineup. The Angel starter barely broke a sweat for the first six innings.
