......oh well. I guess picking the garbage at the bottom of garbage pales is a part of the rebuilding.  But I guess, I should stay positive that the rebuild is at least beginning to turn the corner.

I honestly don't understand the point of the pickup. Collins needs PA, and it isn't like he's going to supplant Vaughn or Abreu in the near future. The only way this makes sense is if they already have an agreement with Abreu to come back in the winter if they trade him, or they're trading Abreu and he's not coming back. I'm not sure I like that because you don't want to piss off your new superstar with disloyalty. It might lead to him walking in 4 years. 

They’ve been interested in him for a while and got him for free... just gonna heck him out and see what gives.

One of the benefits of rebuilding is being in a position to give these types of guys a legitimate shot and hope you strike gold.
