If this team kept Sully, Brought in Hawkins, brought in Millwood/Ponson and a 5th starter. Mix that with spending maybe 3-4 mill at shortstop and I'd be extremely happy.

If they had to deal Konerko/Koch/Maggs/Lose Thomas then I wouldn't be concerned. I'm assuming they would get value for Maggs.

If this team hasn't learned that offense don't win divisions after the past 2 seasons, then they'll never learn.

Pitching should be the sought after commodity this offseason. Hopefully KW has seen the error's of his ways.

I beg to differ, offenses can win division (see Atlanta and Cleveland throughout the 90s). Are offense wasn't consistent at all though. We would have 10 run outbursts followed by a 1 or 2 run performance. Offenses can win divisions but it doesn't win in the playoffs.

Atlanta's pitching won the divisions in the 90's. Cleveland..... I'll give you that one. But Cleveland didn't win any WS's even though they did get to the big one once.

No problem. I meant to say World Series instead of divisions. We all make mistakes.

Yep, like you double posting. :D

All of his quotes seem to say he wants to build his team around pitching, pitching, speed, defense, and more pitching. And I for one back that idea to the Nth degree. Now I hope they follow through with it.

I will have an open mind this offseason if they deal some of the socalled stars to make room for pitching and talented speedsters. The only thing I care about is the product on the field and I don't care what they have to do to get the right combination out there. :headbang

As for the Starters I would to pickup 2 Colon and Either Ponson, Pettite heck or even Maddux.

As a leser pickup Brian Anderson or Kelvim Escobar are OK

As for the Pen..

Gordon, Hawkins or even Hasegawa.

Non tenders that interest me Freddy Garcia mand Danys Baez and if A.J Burnet would be ok......

I feel like all of you guys do when you read that list - I salivate, close my eyes, dream, and then sigh. We have to remember that we are still dealing with a limited payroll. Believe me, Kenny will do everything but run through a brick wall to keep Bartolo Colon. But if he doesn't, then he will slightly lean for quantity over quality - meaning he'll go out and sign two "mid-range" FA's who could win anywhere from 14-20 games potentially.

I want Bartolo back, but if we CAN'T get him back, then two solid quality starters would be a viable alternative. Look at it this way - Bartolo Colon and Wright/Rauch/Cotts would theoretically win 26-28 games combined next year. If we sign two quality "mid-range" guys, we could still get 26-28 wins combined - OR MORE.

For the first time in 4 years, I have complete faith in Kenny Williams.

Did I just say that? :o

I guess people around here hate me so much that they don't even respond to this topic - no matter how important it is to the future of our team.

Okay!

I  won't stop posting - I will continue to haunt and bother all of you losers who couldn't assemble a major league roster if your ass was gold.

Since you're not reading, then I guess it won't insult you if I say - f*** YOU!!!

And SUCK MY ASS.

Whoa dude. Don't take it personally. Sometimes a thread just dies. It happens all the time.
