I just read her stupid tweet.  She is pretty much a sexist feminist.

Her overall point is right - there are a lot of quality female broadcasters that get boxed out.

They don't get boxed out by Walton. They get blocked by morons like Rex Hudler or downers like John Smoltz who bring nothing to the broadcast. One of my old classmates is one of two female broadcasters in minor league baseball and I wonder if she'll ever get to do an MLB game. She's good at her job, even with no color commentator, but people like Farmer stay in the booth for eons, long past the expiration date.

But yeah, DiCaro's tweet is off-base. Complain about the shitty broadcasting regular, not a guest broadcaster for a night.

  • This is an awful point.  It wasn't more enjoyable than Hawk and Stone, it was a one time novelty.  If that happened for 162 game season people would want to murder Walton by game 3

A genius that deserves an extension.  But it is easy with Usain Bolt on 3rd.

Walton is by nature someone that is going to be loved or hated.   I found myself laughing more than I can remember watching a televised game. Would I want that all year? of course not.
