And That's Another Jimenez/Moncada HR's White Sox Winner

Featured Replies

Wait, actually, it's the 1st time they have ever homered in the same game.  Can you believe that ?

Jimenez hit a Grand Salami in the 1st inning while Moncada capped a 3 hit night with a 2 run shot in the 7th. JImenez' slam was an oppo taco while Moncada's was a 452 ft. BOMB to CF. The mighty Adam Engel also hit an opposite field HR.

Ivan Nova pitched competently giving up 3 runs in 5.2 innings. All 3 runs were solo HR's . He gave up 0 walks and K'd 5.

Final Score White Sox 7  KC Royals 3

Jimenez leads all American League Rookie in HR's with 25 although Yordan Alvarez of the Astro's is right on his tail with 24 .

Moncada would be having a top 12 season in fWAR if he could have stayed healthier.  Oh well, still a monster year for him.  Up to 4.6 fWAR and he's tied with guys that have played a lot more games like Kris Bryant, Lindor and Peter Alonso.

Moonshot Moncada. I'm trying to get that to catch on.

Once again, our starters give up multiple runs in the first 2 innings.  How many times has that happened, putting us in an early hole?  Luckily, Nova recovered nicely and was a third of an inning short of having a QS.  I think that's about the 3rd time he's done that.

Wade Miley of the Astros has taken the "bad early" thing to a new level.  In his last 2 starts, he's given up a total of 12 earned runs, while pitching a total of one-third of an inning. That's an ERA of 324.00

He has good odds at improving.

Moncada missed by 10-15 feet last night, but Jimenez took another out to RF again. I think his last 3 have been opposite field.

Where do you pitch Jimenez going forward? Next year he might hit 50.

If he can stay on the field he's 40+ a year.

You jam him all day long and dare him to pull it. Also high fastballs along with the down and away sliders but he is adjusting and taking more of those sliders.
