Pitcher didn't seem to want much to do with Moncada there.  Walks on 5 pitches.  None of the balls that close.

I fear regular season gamethreads based on how the spring training ones are going so far.

  • Good news....would have hit most players in the balls

Moncada draws a 1 out walk.

So if spring training stats mean nothing, how should a manager decide who wins a position battle?

You obviously can't make a decision until making the wrong one starts costing you games, right?

Delmonico blooper caught on a diving effort in short CF.  Looked like it would drop the whole way.

Grandal flies out to end the inning.

Cease back on for the 4th.

If I was the manager I'd be fining Cease 10K every fucking time he grooves an 0-2 pitch.  Third one today!  Come on dude spring or otherwise that's a Cardinal sin.

Also James McCann calling for fastballs away on 0-2 should stop.

Cease gives up leadoff single to LF.

Cease leaves after 1 batter in the 4th.  Cishek on.

Anderson making every play under the bill of his cap is giving me great joy.  He's breaking some bad habits.

Cishek gets a grounder for a 6-4-3 DP.  2 down.

He gone!  Cishek comes in and quickly retires the side.

Cease goes 3IP, 4H, 3ER, 3BB, 3K, 1HR, 1HBP.

Eloy is not even close.

3-1 Reds after 4.

Bummer in top 5.

Ceases delivery looked different today than it did vs the brewers

TA error, easy play, 1 on 1 out.

Yep that's a play TA always rounds off and you can see he's working on staying in front and square and it's not natural yet.
