Betts might be closing in on a deal with LAD

Featured Replies

With a pandemic going on and the possibility of the season getting cut short this year (and even next year for all we know), it makes sense to take the money now.

Damn. Sox were never going to sign him but now the competition for the other top guys like Springer is even worse.

But but...... the owners are losing 9 figures!

And they're giving Betts a $350M deal.

Owners were always fulla shit.

This right here.  I wonder how much this has altered his thinking, especially after seeing what happened to Machado and Harper's expected deals.

It also makes the Maraza move look better in retrospect.

There goes that pipe dream. Better now than late into FA with the Sox being one of the top 3 or 4 teams and ending with ultimate disappointment and anger.

Still kinda wish we did what the Dodgers did here. Trade and sign to long term deal.
