This is almost exactly what went through my head when I first read it. 

Don’t rush him back though.   This season will never be completed so let’s make sure we don’t do long term harm to his arm to get him a start or two in 2020.

Actually think he just belongs in the pen and can be really good there. He just never brings 3 above average pitches to the park.
