Sox lead the AL(and most of the NL) in sac bunts

Featured Replies

It was amazing how many Sox fans I talked to today who were enraged by all bunting.  Soxtalk may be a ton of diehards and understand that bunting is generally dumb, but even causal fans were pissed.

Sox had a 1000 obp vs Holland in 8 plate appearances this year prior to the bunt. Tony felt bad for another opposing team and pitcher so he made his team give up an out.

14 outs given away and that’s not including the failed attempts. I don’t know why the TLR thread was closed, but can we discuss here how stupid it is to sac bunt in the 6th inning against a pitcher who couldn’t get anyone out?

Just scrolled through the game thread.  Goddamn TLR.

Bunt is a four-letter word for a reason, Tony. No bunting in modern baseball. HRS, K'S are desired. A walk is OK, nothing else.
