The FO really dislikes admitting mistakes and bringing them back would be a constant reminder how we either whiffed on development or sold low. A FO without that ego would say "hell if they can make us better, bring them on. " That's just not how we roll. The nightmare for our FO would be facing SD in the WS and having to deal with the lampooning on a national media stage of giving away Tatis Jr. for a broken down Shields and his egregious contact. Their heads would implode by Game 2.
July 30, 20214 yr Just in recent memory the Sox brought back Beckham, Yolmer and Trayce Thompson. So that narrative doesn’t quite hold up to any scrutiny

So that narrative doesn’t quite hold up to any scrutiny We’ll see. Those were basically just filler positions when the Sox weren’t really attempting to compete in the playoffs. Beckham came in at the same time as Cabrera, LaRoche, Bonifacio, etc., desperation moves. This is a different situation talking about a key role in the postseason spotlight. Beckham was already finished, he just didn’t know it and held on. Trying to remember if Jordan Danks came back twice as well. But Jackson/Hudson was one of the most memorable and controversial of the KW regime. Escobar/Liriano, not so much. We also haven’t been connected at all to Marcus Semien, for example.
