winninguglyin83
hot, cold, lukewarm or in between, I hope Mr. Cotts comes out throwing strikes next year. We need him to give us the kind of lift Dontrelle gave the fish.

Pastime
It's as bad as Lou Pinella's record of being thrown out at every single base in one game. Abo, Obviously you're a Buehrle fan. A BIG Buehrle fan. I like the guy too, and I was pretty pissed at how bad the season started for him. I have him returning to form and going 18-9, 18-11, 17-10, or something like that. Agree? (Of course, I will understand when you say he'll be 25-4 with a 1.34 ERA). Either way, I think it's safe to say he's our staff ace again. If Bartolo Colon wants to leave a good situation with us for a few extra dollars, then let him choke on a Quarter Pounder.
Al Lopez Ghost (old)
Wednesday's Southtown: "All of a sudden, Frank Thomas' impending contract decision might not be so clear-cut....A source close to the situation said Thomas heard Tuesday morning the Dodgers, who struggled offensively in 2003, covet the slugger as a potential free agent. "The problem is, with the Dodgers organization in the midst of changing ownership, no one can be certain whether teh members of the organization interested in Thomas will have jobs under the new regime. "There's also the detail of Thomas being an everyday first baseman in the National League, which doesn't use a dh - a role the Big Hurt has grown comfortable with during his 14 seasons on the South Side. "Phone calls to Dodger officials were not returned." There's still hope.

I'd tend to agree that 17 or 18 wins from Buehrle should be expected, while it's not out of the realm to believe he can win 20. And yes, I am a BIG Buehrle fan. Just love the way the guy pitches and how he takes the ball each start and usually gets the job done. Sure, he struggled early on this season, but his resurrgence was one of the main reasons the Sox were able to make a run after the all-star break. Glad to see other fans appreciate what Buehrle has done thus far in his early years with the Sox. We've got him for at least 3 more and hopefully we can keep him longer.
