Pallette and Cannon aren't missing enough bats.

Hard to believe Nicolas Padilla is on the 40 man. Just gave up 4 runs in two thirds of an inning. His ERA is 7.5. Depth.

If I'm not mistaken Colas has taken a walk in 3 straight games. Maybe he's making progress. That's what I've been waiting to see. He can hit with his eyes closed in AAA but he has to take more pitches,  be more selective and take his walks.

I wish I knew more about Wilfred Veras, other than his stat line.

I have watched a fair amount of Veras. Personally, I'm a fan. He's the son of Wilton Veras and the nephew of Fernando Tatis, so he is He Who Shall Not Be Named's cousin.  Big guy, but fairly athletic. Started at 3b but moved to first when Sox drafted Wes Kath. This winter, they switched him to rf. He has a strong throwing arm. Not tremendous range, but he's not terrible out there. Has a pretty good idea at the plate for a kid who doesn't turn 21 until November. Strikes out a tad more than you'd like, but will take his walks. Mostly doubles power now because he does not loft the ball as much as Gladney.  If you're high on him, and I am, he's in the 11-15 range for Sox prospects. Because of his youth, I can see him rising much higher
