9 players in need of a change of scenery, many in Sox areas of need

I would like one of the catchers.

They simply have to upgrade from Zavala and Perez.

Let them battle it out for the starting 2024 catching spot the second half of the season.  Bring in a veteran like a Gomes Hedges Nola type as a defensive mentor and to play 30-40% of the time.

The Sox should be all over the minor league systems of the NL west.   Arizona always has excess outfielders (and a couple of young pitchers of interest) and needs a closer and a ready-now starter.  The Padres have 0 a 1B/DH and the Sox  have 4 of them.  Et al.

Astros would probably trade their catcher prospect if we take Abreu off their hands.

Definitely need some new blood in at C and I wouldn't mind a Brujan reclamation project.  At worst he's a great super-sub that can play anywhere with solid D and not hit a lick.

Sox need to replenish AAA Charlotte with some reclamation projects that are starters. With nobody ready in AAA besides Scholtens and Birmingham AA pitchers shitting the bed, we have no depth.
