This was broached during the final month in game threads.

The White Sox finished with a 5-24 season series record. 2023 was the inaugural season teams played all 29 other MLB teams.

The Sox defeated Atlanta (2-1) and Cincinnati (2-1) in the National League, and Boston (4-2) Cleveland (8-5) and New York (4-2) in the American League.

With the randomness of baseball, and inter league limited to a single series, it will be hard for a team to finish 20 or more season series under .500 in future seasons.

Final 2023 Season Series Records:

  1. 22-6-1 Atlanta
  2. 21-6-2 Los Angeles N. L.
  3. 19-8-2 Tampa Bay
  4. 18-9-2 Baltimore
  5. 18-10-1 Philadelphia
  6. 17-10-2 Toronto
  7. 17-10-2 Milwaukee
  8. 16-10-3 Houston
  9. 16-10-3 Texas
  10. 15-11-3 Minnesota
  11. 15-11-3 Cincinnati
  12. 14-12-3 Miami
  13. 15-13-1 Chicago N. L.

The season looks even more depressing when broken down into stats than it was watching it.

Pretty sure Hawk would also say the Sox were near the bottom or dead last in TWTW.

I know it’s not empirical evidence, but watching this team get beaten (or get slapped around, most of the time) by the likes of the Rockies, Royals, and A’s made me feel like the Sox were truly the worst overall team in baseball.
