1959 team RIPs

Wow. Thanks. lots of great thrills from that team. I was in high school.  Aparicio was an all-time favorite of mine.  I just hated the day they traded him to Baltimore.

I loved that team, naturally Nellie was my all time favorite, attended game 2 of the World Series which was a heartbreaking loss to the Dodgers.

I was there, too. Saw Al Smith's beer bath as a home run sailed into the stands above him.

I was born in late August 1959, and those damn sirens woke me up from a peaceful nap!

Hicks never got much of a chance with the Sox, played a few games in 59 and 60 then was picked by the Angels in the 1960 Expansion Draft who a short time later traded him to the new Washington Senators, the other new expansion team for the 1961season.
