That's one reason why I wanted to spend the money on Clemons, although I don't think he would ever have come to Chi. But the same rule of thumb holds true for Colon. All of which makes me think that we really are well stocked with kids one year away. with varga (sp) in the minors at 3b, i can let go of crede if it can bring both pitchers. but we need mark b in the rotation, that is the reason why we are trying to get better.
January 12, 200323 yr I'm not willing to let go of Crede for anything, unless it is Vazquez, Colon and Vidro....we waited 5 and a half years for this kid to get up here and then we are going to deal him as a throw in for a possible rent-a-pitcher? I want KW to s*** or get off the pot, but not if Crede is coming out. If we traded for Joe Randa like right now, I wouldn't mind it so much....Randa's a decent hitter who would hit .290 15-20 75-85 in our lineup at 3B....and he kills us every time we play them. Why not? Trade Dave Sanders and Jon Adkins for Joe Randa and then Crede, Biddle and Stewart for Colon and Vazquez....that's fine with me.

January 13, 200323 yr No way should we include Crede...period. Well, if its for Colon and Vazquez I'd figure out a way to live. I don't think the Sox have any 3rd base prospects near ready though, so they'd have to pick up someone else and the fact is they aren't capable of doing that and I don't want another year of Manos at 3rd. KEEP Crede, deal some prospects for Colon.
