im not trying to argue that stadiums are not boondoggles, they certainly are, but a lot of these stadiums are hosting concert tours year round as well as tennis/soccer/basketball/pro wrestling events, even your cardinals stadium hosts a monster truck rally next week.

they can make money on those stadiums and a lot of them do, it’s not a myth 

B10 football and basketball championships...women's and men's too.

At least Reinsdorf never did anything like threatening to move the team in order to force the state legislature to build him a stadium.  He’s a much better human than Fischer.

I was out in Oakland two weeks ago to catch a Friday night game against Detroit. I walked in expecting the worst stadium experience and to have a laugh, but man - those fans were having a blast. I left thinking about how these fans have nothing left to cheer for or show up for, and they're still out there having an awesome time. 

They deserved better.
