There isn't a single person working in MLB that will move their opinion one iota on Robert after hearing his GM say he's a game changing player. Not a single one. So who is the audience for those comments? Robert himself? That's the charitable view. 

Jeez. Davey Martinez did an interview a week ago where he said that results come down to the players executing, and his possible firing was thrown around the media for days. 

Players are temperamental. Managers and GMs have to carefully parse their words to not give the impression they're throwing the player under the bus, even when the player has cratered his value and can't pull out of it. I don't know why some people expect Getz to drag players in the press like some of the worst cranks here. Yes, Robert is probably part of the audience for the cheerful comment. I'm not sure why that's a charitable view.

Nah, he just gets his contacts to do this for him.  The Robert work ethic stories have already been doing the rounds, and will only pick up after he is dealt, just like we did to the rest of them.  The fans eat it up and forget who this all keeps happening under.
