With no track record though, I don’t think he gets it. I can see him gambling on 1 year/$22M and having no draft pick attached in a year.

Angels are going trade Adell and/or Ward and have plenty of money to spend still. When most of the Top 15 names are off the board or accounted for already, someone in that second tier of teams/payrolls will blink.

Unique contract structure.
