August 18Aug 18 https://nypost.com/2026/08/17/sports/diamondbacks-ketel-marte-moved-to-restricted-list-after-no-showing-game/At least Vargas didn't go AWOLso many character issues with this guy...right in the heat of the pennant race, of course"While he couldn't divulge the exact reason why Marte was unavailable to play, Lovullo sent a message of love and care to him and wanted everyone to know that he is alright."No, not really. I love him, and I care for him. He'll be okay. He is fine. I want you guys to know that I just care about him. So does everybody in that room."Considering Lovullo was tight-lipped about Marte's absence, one has to imagine that the second baseman was dealing with a private matter. It's clear that whatever the situation is for Marte, it has impacted the rest of his team very heavily, even leaving Lovullo in tears." Saturday at 03:41 AM4 days Good for the Padres?Rengifo France Hays costing roughly $2 million totalVery bad?Giolito Darvish Musgrove Pivetta Marquez, etc.Mize and Ray have temporarily band-aided the wobbling rotation of King, Buehler and Vasquez (Soto trade from NYY).
Saturday at 01:48 PM3 days The cubs fans reactions to last night are hilarious. Anyone who seriously thought they were going to go toe to toe with the Brewers was delusional. You have to be damn near perfect to challenge the Brewers down the stretch because they don't lose in the business end of the season.

Sunday at 09:58 AM2 days Tatis, Jr. has been worth 25 fWAR the first five years of his 13 year deal.Still has 28-31 when he should still be in his prime, and then the last four years will look more like Machado and Bogaerts.Still, if you go by that one fWAR=$8 million of production, he has been worth $200 million already...and only needs to produce 16 more fWAR or 2/season. Hard to imagine he won't accomplish that before age 31 season is over, alone...completely disregarding the four years on the back end.

1 hour ago1 hr At a time when fast-growing prediction markets are jostling for tie-ups with big name sports franchises, Kalshi announced deals with five of Major League Baseball's best known franchises. On Tuesday, the site announced it has arranged multi-year brand partnerships with The Atlanta Braves, Boston Red Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres, and San Francisco Giants. The partnerships will let the prediction market platform advertise through stadium ads, digital and radio promotions, and branded spaces. For example, the Dodgers will give Kalshi naming rights for the Golden Glove Bar under the partnership. The platform will also offer fans special promotions and in-person events at the teams' home ballparks. The announcement comes as major prediction markets race to partner with Major League Baseball teams. These markets, which allow traders to wager on anything from sports to elections and pop culture, have exploded over the past two years. Sports make up a significant portion of trading. So far in 2026, baseball-related contracts traded on the platform totaled nearly 13 billion, according to a Kalshi spokesperson. The figure represents a 36-fold increase from the roughly 355 million contracts traded during the same period in 2025."It only makes sense to extend that fandom to some of the most beloved baseball teams in America," said Adam Barrick, Kalshi's head of sports partnerships, in a statement.Yahoo.com/sports
