We will get some real great non tendered players after Dec 20th, and any trade of the above the Sox will take a screwing just like the Koch deal, KW and JR could of just use there cell phone for the winter meetings instead of wasting money on a trip, they do nothing at anyway, but KW will tell all the fans we really tried, Bullls*** KW.

Excellent thinking. I too am trying to go into this season thinking we are doomed to a 5th place finish. Then if we get swept the opening series I won't be so enraged. Let's set our expectations realy low and anything is a surprise and an upside.

 

I like starting a team with Maggs, Lee, Frank, Mark, and E-Lo. Let's see what opening day looks like.

You can't get crawfish from Patout's or a Hurricaine at Pat O'Briens by cell phone.

SoxnBears...who cares about winning the Central? It just means you get blown out in the 1st round of the playoffs. Very anticlimactic!

All the more reason to step it up and try to separate your team from the pack.

That's easier said than done, though, because Minny and KC are not exactly going to be the Brewers. They're both still very good teams, and the Sox had better NOT be trying to win solely by other teams shrinking.

did you guys pay attention to the playoffs last year? THE MARLINS won, they weren't even close to being the best team in the playoffs. If youc an make it to the playoffs anything can happen.

At this point I just want the Sox to make the playoffs. I don't care how they get there, just do it.

Like it's been said....It really won't take much to win this division. We get to play each the Tigers, Indians, Royals, and Twins 19 times each. If we can get ourselves at the least a rotation, we'll be well off.

For most teams wh make the playoffs I believe that -- anything can happen in a short series. The Sox seem to be the exception to the rule, however, and beat themselves in the first round regardless of who they are playing or how good they played in the regular season. I don't know the way to fix it, I just know this team has yet to rise to the occasion in playoff competition since 1983. No, make that since Game 1 of the '59 WS.

 

Still, we gotta get there first.
