December 15, 200322 yr Bowden was reporting that the Orioles are VERY close to signing Ponson, take it for what you will though....also said that they might announce that they signed IROD and that they r going to continue talks with Vlad too....talk about spendin some money...just rumors for now though
December 15, 200322 yr The O's are making some moves. They are the AL version of the Padres. They are going to be drasticly improved, but I still don't think they will be able to hang with the Yankees and Red Sox(not unless they significantly improve their starting pitching). However, this has to be one of the biggest offseasons by one team in a long time. They could possible sign Tejada, Guerrero, IRod, and Ponson. Thats 4 possible AS's. Pretty impressive. Wouldn't it be nice to see the Sox lose some salary during the offseason and go on a big spending spree like the O's? I can dream can't I?
December 15, 200322 yr At least 4 out of the 5 teams in the AL East r goin to hav winnin records this year. Doesn't suprise me that Ponson's goin back to Baltimore, they obviously had an agreement when he was traded that he would come back.

With the unbalanced schedule, they play and therefore beat one another more. The Central is just plain bad every year and one team backs in, usually not the Sox. We can easily win the division if we spend a buck or two.

December 15, 200322 yr Piss on Ponson. His arm is falling off, and he's not worth the money he's asking. This is a "depressed" market, and only the stupidass Orioles can't figure that out. Let him go back to wherever, who cares. He's a mediocre starter who had one good season (look at his numbers). He is not worth the coin he wants, and I don't want to waste the limited pennies we have in payroll on his frayed arm. He will blow his arm out this season, bank on it. I don't want that to happen in a White Sox uniform. Piss on him.
