I'll help answer your question about Bradford, here are his "Lifetime Stats!!11 ML Seasons 226 Avg. 52 Hr's 175 RBI's "Impressive!!!"

As far as Agee, he turned into a decent player, but with The sox he was rookie of the year in"67, backed it up with a 234 Avg, then Gone the next. Became a hero with The Mets.

Bo Jackson hasn't been mentioned.

he was certainly not unsung and wouldn't be my choice anyway

I have never understood the big deal about the home run in 1993 - it was inevitable that we would clinch going into that game and someone would have gotten the hit to do it - not like that home run changed the course of anything - it just happened to supply the inevitable

he did have very good marketing going for him however

Good 'Ol Ron Karkovice!

And in case you didn't know, he was an actor for a short time before his baseball career, and appeared in "The Wizard Of Oz."

That's the funniest thing I've seen in weeks. I can't stop laughing, that is so perfect!

I'll vote for Brian Downing, Eric Soderholm, Jim Spencer

First post on this board.

BRIT BURNS - pitched his heart out in game 4 of the 1983 ALCS, I've hated Tito Landrum ever since.

Richard Dotson - Overshadowed by Lamar Hoyt in 83, but I think he won 22 games and only lost around 6.

the 77 Southside Hitmen.

Definetly Karkovice. He was one of the best defensive catchers in the AL circa late 80s early 90s. Excellent bunter as well as decent pop.

Good enough to put Pudge 72 in LF (Thanks GM Hawk)

Several Players on the 1990 team

Fletcher- Eric King, King pitched a 3-0 shutout against Oakland in early June 1990 in Oakland. Made me know the Sox were for real that year.

One-Dog steady in CF homer in the 93 playoffs.

Floyd Bannister, caught fire in second-half of 83 and really solidified the rotation.

He also later brought us Melido Perez and I think Greg Hibbard in a trade with KC in the 87-88 offseason.

looking at all these names reminds me of all the nicknames Hawk has come up with over the years. There has to be no one better in the business for that than Hawk. Norberto "Paco" Martin, Greg Hibbard- the bulldog, Warren Newsome - the deacon, Mike Lavalliere - spanky, "Officer" Karkovice. One of my favories of all time wasn't an nickname for a player, but the name of Jason Bere's pitch, the "fosh". I still don't know what that pitch did.

WILBUR WOOD

I’m like

throwin’ f***in’ junk

scraping the sides of the plate

fluttering across broken winged

accumulating insults

& lounging in stale air

I’m the junkballer

& from a few feet away

I look easy to hit

but, friend, understand

that my s*** explodes

BOOM!

& it sure as hell ain’t where you thought it’d be

when you started that swing

& yr fury fans the air impotent

while my junk falls behind you, immaculate

:notworthy

He once pitched both ends of a double header. Gotta love that.

Brilliant work!
