Dreams

Featured Replies

This may be a really stupid question but what do blind people see when they dream?

I think it's just thoughts in their head, images you see inside your head, not with the eyes...

less accurate representations of what everyone else sees

I've always thought it would be a good idea if a blind person somehow drew artwork of their dreams, just to get a look into how they see the world.

that might be hard

with the blindness and all

I've always been fascinated with Helen Keller and I think Miracle Worker can't begin to do her justice.

Blind, deaf and dumb...that's some way to go through life! (That's also 3 Oscars for Sean Penn right there.)

Come to think of it, Helen Keller got off easy-- she could have been a Cub fan....stupid, drunk and impotent.

I'll burn in Hell for this, but now I can't stop thinking about Woody Allen and the Braille Porn in Bananas. :bang

This makes me think of two completely unrelated things...

1) this quote ----

I don't kill flies, but I like to mess with their minds. I hold them above globes. They freak out and yell "Whooa, I'm way too high."

I don't know why.

OK here's my contributions to the wrongnesss

Blind, deaf and dumb? Doesn't that make you a pinball wizard?

And how do you piss off Helen Keller? Leave the plunger in the toilet.

That or an ECHL ref...one or the other.

On a side note, I went to Cincy Saturday for a ECHL game and I loved the music that was played when the 3 officials skated in...the theme to the Three Stooges! :headbang

I think it matters alot if the person has been blind their entire life or not. If they have, I don't think they see anything in their dreams.

Why wouldn't blind people see in their dreams...? Dreams are images of the mind.. just cause their eyes can't see things doesn't mean their mind doesn't form images..? :huh

I agree, but what about people that have been blind from birth? What are they 'seeing' in their mind, what do their images look like?

No idea.. has someone asked someone who's been blind from birth?

I love that movie. Definately one of my favirotes.

"This trial is a travesty. It's a travesty of a mockery of a sham of a mockery of a travesty of two mockeries of a sham."--Fielding Mellish (Woody Allen)

Actually, IMO the best part of the movie is the honeymoon night announced by Howard Kosell and ABC's wide world of sports.

I would guess that someone that was blind from birth would dream of textures, smells, taste, touch (warmth, coolness, etc.), sound .... I mean, their world consists of these things and they can't comprehend images, colors, shading, shadow, light or anything visual.
