February 10, 200422 yr What a pretentious asshole. I understand wanting to protect his investment, but to take away olympic dreams for his personal gain is bulls*** http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4218125/
February 10, 200422 yr Cuban has a point that he is putting money into the program, he should receive their effort back.. but the man has been slowly turning into a Napoleon over the last couple of years. Everything on his team has to be exactly what HE wants, who the hell cares what anyone else wants? The Olympics are popular for every country including the USA, the NBA should make some concessions to help their players play for their native teams if they want to.
February 10, 200422 yr since the olympics went pro its kinda lost alot of luster...back i nthe day there was always something special about our athletes being behind the 8 ball as far not be professionals but still real olympic athletes , imo , are the ones who sacrifice for their sport...they do it year round every year even when the cameras arnt on and at personal expenxe to both them and their families... NBA or NHL players who make millions and then about a month or so before they olympics get toghether for a few practices to go over international rules just kind of misses the spirit of the what the plympics are suppose to be about...so if an owner doesnt want his multi million dollar investment being risked for an event that really has lost all of its meaning and purpose , well i cant really blame him..

Agreed.....With the exception of the '92 Dream Team, it seems playing basketball for the US in the Olympics has kind of become like the Pro Bowl to them. It's the event everyone wants to make the team, but no one wants to play the game. It's kind of pathetic the way things have changed.
February 10, 200422 yr Pros in the Olympics sucks ass, but team Canada without Steve Nash isn't much of a team.
February 10, 200422 yr I never thought I'd say this, but Cuban is becoming a jackass although I definately see his point in this.

February 11, 200422 yr Cuban is crazy. Basketball wouldnt be where its at today if it wasnt for the Dream Team and the olympics. I think players should be aloud to go play in the olympics for there native countries beacuse its a popular thing. Basketball is the 2nd most popular sport in the world next to soccer. oh yeah and how can Cuban take away a chance for a guy to play in the olympics. The olymipcs dont come by every day you know.
February 11, 200422 yr Cuban is crazy. Basketball wouldnt be where its at today if it wasnt for the Dream Team and the olympics. the dream team had nothing to do with that imo...the reason the dream team was formed was because basketball became so popular all over the world our college players could no longer bring home the gold..and in typical win at all cost fashion our olympic committee decides winning is more important than keeping the ideals of what the olympics are suppose to be about... magic , larry and michael made basketball the sport it is world wide today..and thats proved by the fact that now that all three are retired the NBA's popularity has gone in the toliet...
