Maggs is now 29

I'm thinking its time for his first MVP season :)

Or the early stages of a mid-life crisis.

He has to get more popular.

If he shows up at the park in a Corvette.. we'll know which one it is ;)

Yeah, the Sox are the "Jan Brady's" of MLB. Always overlooked in favor of their shallow, snotty, underachieving sister.

maybe maggs will show up with a huge afro then to start getting some of that recognition...hi , im the new magglio !!!

a group of us must leave our jobs and go to every Sox game, all 162, in the regular season. Every time Mags comes to bat, we sing O-E-O as always.

If we sing the Mags O-E-O in 81 non comiskey games, people will know who he is.

I'm in, who else?

You'd be the next Ronnie Woo Woo :), except will call him Vince O-E-O

It's hard to believe how good Maggs is. Amazing.

Seems to me we should have won a Series by now with Maggs, Frank, Lee and Paulio on paper providing an incredible middle of the order.

Hopefully the addition of Colon makes our staff pretty darn good.

We still may have a questionable infield.

I love Crede, but can he do it next year on a full time basis. I love Jose V, but I am worried about those winter league stats somebody posted. Is he over the hill or not? I like D'Angelo but is he good enough? Why would those other 2 teams give up on him? And I love Paul K. He is consistent.

We're also not great at catcher.

We have a lot of ifs, correct?

Greg, we do have a lot of ifs, but for the first time I can remember the Sox are doing things to build a very deep team.

We now have Rios and Daubach on the bench, ready to step in if outfielders struggle. We have Alomar behind Olivo and this new guy Cookie down in AAA and maybe Josh Paul as well.

We have a ton of middle infielders. As far as Jose goes, I dont' like him, and his winter ball stats weren't good (Avg wise) but he did have good power numbers if I recall. I also think he struggled last year in winter ball. I don't think of him as a permanent solution, but its nice to have the veteran there while Jimenez develops.

This team is going to be real fun to watch Greg - Hopefully you'll get to see them whip up on the Royals when they go to Kansas City.

Good point chisoxfan. I need to go to the opener if KU isn't in the Final Four.

That will be neat to see the Sox play the Royals in a meaningful game.

I think I'll even be able to still get a press pass even though we don't cover the piss poor Royals much anymore.

I used to probably do 20 Royals games a year. Now zippo, except the opener.

That would be real cool. Kansas is looking pretty good this year. I caught one of there games yesterday.

It be real sweet if KC hooked ya up with a gig to cover the Sox on a permanent basis ;)

im thinking hes almost old enough for me to have and not feel guilty about robbin the cradle.......... :o :headbang

A little competition might even encourage Jerry to spend some money. I mean when you can finish "second place" every year you aren't that bad in JR's book. I wish KC or Detroit could get their acts together and field a competitive team although both continue to boggle me. Detroit just gets their new stadium but really hoses themselves cuz they seem to scout only pitching talent and rely on .200-.260 hitters to power their team. Their pitchers ballpark helps, but not much.

I really don't know much about KC but it seems like most people I meet from the area are Chiefs fans first and have little hope for their team. I do know they do a bad job with their emerging talent (see: Jermaine Dye, Johnny Damon, Paul Byrd, and coming soon Carlos Beltran) they are unable to re-sign them and fail to trade them away before time runs out.
