April 2, 200422 yr I find it that really funny. Hmmmm Sox just got an injury prone has been, "yes ill take $1100 dollars worth of tickets." I'm buying into this sorrow story. :dips*** $11K is plausable... it's full season premium lower box cost.
April 2, 200422 yr Don't hate the player, sweetie... hate the game.. Game, huh? What? Player? Confused, so confused.

April 2, 200422 yr I'm a little late on this thread, but anyone who actually fell for that joke yesterday is now qualified to be a Cub Fan. It was April Fools day. Lighten up everyone. If it was true, ESPN radio would have been talking about it too. It took me 10 seconds to flip over to ESPN listen and see that they didn't mention it to realize it was a joke. The moron who spent $1100 to season tickets is just that... a moron. People should know to not trust anyone, especially the media, on April 1. It wasn't malicious, it was set up to nail Doug and anyone else who was gullible enough to believe it. Kudos to Mike and the Score. Good Stuff.
April 2, 200422 yr Here's what the Tribune thought of it.... Sox 'trade' isn't funny By Tom Carkeek Tribune staff reporter April 1, 2004, 7:45 PM CST This didn't quite reach Sidd Finch proportions, but Mike North's lame idea of April Fool's Day humor wasn't funny. His ruse that the White Sox had traded for Ken Griffey Jr. was delivered much too believably. He claimed the news had come "off the wire" and even took fans' calls reacting to the "trade." Like many others, I fell for the lie. I kept punching the radio button from North's show to the Sox game trying to learn details. Only later did I find out why John Rooney and Ed Farmer had not commented: There was no trade to comment about. There's a lot to like about North's show. But this kind of deceit, which he later acknowledged he had done to tweak broadcast partner Doug Buffone, led thousands of baseball fans down a blind alley. He made fools of us, which third-graders enjoy doing on April Fool's Day. Mike North, you are a jag bag.
April 2, 200422 yr Lol, they opened up their show today with yesterdays broadcast of when the supposed trade happened. North said today that people need to learn to take a joke and the White Sox "wienies" that are pissed need to get a life. He also said that someone on another station (probably 1000) wants Hawk to get a 1 month suspension for being part of the joke. Hahah, if thats the case, people really do need to simma down a bit, theres no call for that!
April 2, 200422 yr It's good to see that even a writer for the tribune didn't like the joke north played on us.

It took me 10 seconds to flip over to ESPN listen and see that they didn't mention it to realize it was a joke. So, you fell for it, or otherwise, you wouldn't have switched over to ESPN 1000. Do you qualify as a Cubs fan now?
April 2, 200422 yr I don't know what to say... I'm sorry... Really.. it was just a joke back to your joke calling us all dips***s.. now.. if you weren't kidding... No big deal. I sounded more dramatic than I meant to be on that last one. Half of the stuff you say is an inside joke so I wasn't sure if that was one of them. That face doesn't really fit, but I just like it. It's under used damnit!
April 2, 200422 yr We should get a better winking smiley on this site, the one we have now: It looks like it means disgusted or something. When I first started posting here, I didn't realize that thing was a wink. Took me a week or so to figure out people were just goofing around!! How about this one?
