April 23, 200421 yr From the Detroit Free Press: TORRES SIGNS WITH SOX: Outfielder Andres Torres rejected a chance to rejoin the Tigers' Triple-A Toledo club and signed a contract to play for the Chicago White Sox's Triple-A club. Anybody got a scouting report on this guy?
April 23, 200421 yr If my memory holds true .... This is that really young guy who played CF for the Tigers about two years ago, I want to say he was just 20. I'd thought the Tigers had picked him up as a Rule 5 and he stuck with them for a year. Could be wrong, but if it's the same guy, he is a very quick outfielder who slaps the ball around.

OK, I got most of this screwed up He was originally drafted by the Tigers and he's 26, but at least I got the OF part right.

Most likely OF depth for the minors would be my guess. Isn't this guy a speedster also? Maybe we are looking at a potential replacement for Reed if and when he gets the call?
April 23, 200421 yr He will replace Michael Riviera on the Charlotte roster, I guess. Hankins will do more catching, so Torres will fill a bench slot. Riviera was claimed on waivers by Oakland. We are seeing our first slew of minor league moves. Things are getting interesting. Maybe Reed is going to get called up. I don't know why I said that, I just felt he deserved to be mentioned, lol.

Wunsch is not currently counted on Charlotte's roster because he is on rehab. There still has to be a spot opened up for Torres. Wonder if someone is going on the DL?
