time to start giving williams some credit?

Featured Replies

he brought in olivo, marte, adkins etc. most of those trades people where calling for his head on.

adkins for durham isnt a great trade but he knew he couldnt resign him and got us some talent in it.

kenny williams....YES

i think he is doing pretty good with loot he has to spend...

oo oo ooh for a 80 million dollar budget!

I'll give him credit when we're back in the post season.

I think another big test will be who he adds in a play-off run, but I do think he's done a good job so far...

So far, but that and 50 cents will get you...(You know the rest). I liked the additions last year, but let's see if this year they'll add some payroll instead of depleting the minor league system. It will be interesting.

I'm with ya on that one totally. He's done a lot with a little and made the last couple of seasons bearable with his moves. He certainly gets props.

He's getting me to the point where I'm neutral about him and that's a major step.

Yeah let's give him lot's of credit for getting adkins -- all he had to do to get him was give up an allstar second baseman -- plus pay part of the Ray durhams salary --

It's a good thing we had someone waiting in the wings to fill that hole at second/leadoff -- We've had some real production out of the 2B/leadoff spot ever since

I never did understand the logic behind that trade. Ummmmm .... perhaps logic isn't an appropriate word to use here.

i thought he traded him because we couldnt afford to keep durham in the first place?? :huh

He traded him mid-season, but still ended up paying most of his salary. We got Adkins out of the deal, but a guy of Durham's capabilities should have brought much more with us still paying the salary.

We should've gotten more out of that deal but I thought I remember hearing that Ray-Ray was shooting his mouth off about KW.

That doesn't carry any weight with me. Durham was an asset of a certain value and we should have been able to get similar value for him.

that we couldnt afford to retain, and there was no playoff team in the hunt that needed a 2b

Marte yes, JV for 5 mil hell no.

First of all -- We still paid Durham -- Second, We sent him to a Oakland, who's been in the playoffs every year since 2000.
