May 2, 200421 yr I am growing tired of everytime I watch ESPN and they say SOX it is always the Red Sox, I hate to tell the pricks in Bristol anyone more than 50 miles outside of the mothership does not refer to the phrase Sox as always meaning Red and not White they have not won a world series in the last 80 years either f*** the east coast bias. :fyou ESPN
May 2, 200421 yr its hard to say this but i have a feeling that the white sox are baseball's version of the l.a clippers (except they win) its really sad that they get no respect. frankly besides white sox fans no one cares about the white sox. outside of illinois, "the sox" are the red sox. its really sad.

I have no clue why the Red Sox got shortened but outside Chicago, the Sox are always Red. Pisses me off, because all I get is out of town coverage. 1/2 the world doesn't even know we have two teams in Chicago. All they know is the Cubs. Now I find out one of my biggest clients is a Cub fan.
May 2, 200421 yr and another thing when i tell an out of towner that i am from chicago they automatically assume that im a cubs fan. when i tell them i'm a sox fan they say red sox? i say a white sox fan!!!!! then they look at me like i'm crazy i bet some of them don't know the white sox exist.

The reason for the Red Sox, Yankee talk is not just because ESPN is located in Bristol, CT but also because the Red Sox and Yankees draw the most attention nationwide.. ESPN's a very factual network, but its also a business and if the White Sox were selling out game after game, and drawing the attention of the entire nation like the Cubs did last year, the Sox would be the White Sox... It's really a stupid thing to be pissed about, and hey how many of you thought the marquee player for tommorow nights game would be Frank Thomas over Tejada...
