Cotts/Alomar

Featured Replies

Right after Cotts threw that gopher ball, DJ questioned the pitch call by Alomar, a change up after Cotts was doing so well with his heater. Good for DJ.

I didn't hear DJ question it... But I immediatley blamed Alomar... Neal may have missed his spot, but Alomar made a mound visit and convinced Neal that the Change was the pitch to throw. I don't know any rookies that are going to question the a 14 year veteran in a situation like that.... Again Neal threw the pitch, but that selection showed me why Miguel Olivo was second in the AL in catchers ERA last season, and sandy was not.

I did like how right after the homer Cotts came in and struck out the next batter. That shows some fortitude and I liked it.

17 year vet, but carry on ;)

Hawk said before the pitch not to throw him anything offspeed. He is swinging a very slow bat right now. Not only a change up, but a high change up. Hawk was really pissed off. He yelled damnit after he gave the totals on the inning, believing his mike was cut off.

I'm sure that one AB he got in 1988 really factored in his descision.... I was a year off... I knew he was rookie of the year in 90, so I subtracted 2004-1990, but that leaves one year unaccounted for.

olivo should play everyday...he has a bat and a gun

i agree on olivo. i don't understand why he doens't play more often. how much are he and sandy making?

They are both on the low side of the income/food chain. Not an issue. Olivo played the night before.

how much are he and sandy making?

Sandy-$700,000

Miguel-$320,000

Miggy vs. RHP: .190/261/.262/.523

That's why he doesn't play everyday, thought out most of his career Sandy has hit rightes better than lefties. That's why he's playing (plus he's Buehrle catcher of choice).

Well, Miggy still needs at bats against righties because he is going to be playing against them in the future.

By the way, whats been up with all these stolen bases. The Sox really need to do some work on this.
