I've listened to both shows; Bernstein, when you get down to it, knows a lot of things, has some good insightful thoughts. Mariotti is just full of himself and doesn't make sense at all. I haven't heard them bash the Sox or anyone related to the Sox organization lately. In fact, they interviewed K Will during spring and it lasted for over 30 minutes. In no way are these two guys like Mariotti. I think they're pretty fair in their criticisms overall. In fact, they are far more critical of the Cubs, and say how things really are about them. I can't recall the exact quote that Hawk said, but it was more or less him saying that he has run into people who have never put on a uniform, but have watched baseball for forty years. He says that these people argue with him that even though they have never wore a uniform, they know some things about baseball. Hawk says that these people don't know anything at all about baseball.
