Watched the movie tonight and it was really good. Put the blame squarely on the shoulders of people, which is exactly how it should be, and it really brought up some good points and was also pretty funny at times.

If you ask me, the problem with obescity starts at schools. If you go to school as a kid, your not going to know what you should eat, your going to pick the chips, the soda, and all the other good stuff that your parents don't let you have.

They aught to get that crap out of middle school and basically leave it where the choices you have are part of a balanced diet. I'm usually not one to force things on people, but I see no reason to expose kids to candy and all that crap at school where no one can tell them not to eat it. Very few kids are going to turn away that type of stuff.

Anyway, I do think some things have to be done to get this population thinner. I'm not going to tell people to stop going to McDonalds though and I sure as hell ain't going to tell McDonalds not to make a money, but if you are complaining about putting on weight, my suggestion is exercise and stop eating fast food. IGNORE THE ADKINS DIET, and IGNORE ALL OTHER DIET FADS. Excercising and a healthy diet are the only REAL SOLUTION. I realize it doesn't work for all, but no matter what its a good start.

This movie definately opened up some of my eyes and was good.

Ever since I've heard of this movie I've stop havin McDonalds period. I don't care about this new Salads Plus Nutrition Crap that they're goin on about too, I feel a lot healthier too. When I saw the credits for the film and I saw it was starring Ronald McDonald, that cracked me up.

I'm going to make a point to stop eating out. I figure if I can eat at home during the week or at least on the most part it make a huge difference in staying healthier.

I exercise a lot, but just watching the movie made me think I still dont' do enough. And your right, I really dont' want to eat fast food after seeing it, haha.

It saves money too, I don't like having to pay just under $10 just for a meal of burger, fries and chips. I'm not even a big dude at all, I probably need to gain a bit more weight, but I won't be doin that by eatin junk food. I eat at home wheneva I can, of course sumtimes I'm just too lazy to go out and get sumthin to eat.

That's Charlie Bell the new CEO of McDonalds. ;)

Nightlinr had an interesting piece this week on obesity as it related to poverty/wealth.

I had made the connection before, but had never really understood the factors that contributed.

DBAHO's responce made me think of this. In the inner city it's more difficult to find healthy foods, be it at the supermarket (there's hardly any "Super"markets in the poorest neighborhoods, only little markets and bodegas) or restraunts, (what type of restraunt would locate itself in a low income area).

4 cheeseburgers or a Salad cost about the same @ McDonalds. If you had to feed yourself or you family on a limitted budget, which would you chose?

I for one am I big eater...just ask Quickman... but you should know that metabolism at our age really helps. I would be about 300 lbs right now if I didn't have my metabolism. I know at school I am not innocent either, spending 2.15 on a plate lunch as well as eating my own lunch with buying an occasional 1.25 Mt. Dew on my way to classes. I snack a lot as well, but I do not enjoy fast foods. I'm stuck on nicer resteraunts like Teddy's Red Hots or Culvers too. An occasional few times a week of fat foods will not hurt you, just burn it off with daily excersize...something I haven't done in a while...
