With only one team, Chicago would be a major market, similar to Boston, if not bigger.

How do we get the Cubs to move? And take Wortz with them

In the long term I think it would pay off for the Cubs, but the immediate reaction would be that the Sox fans (let's face it the Cubs have no reason to leave) would be bitter towards baseball as a whole. The Cubs wouldn't gain fans for a generation. Where would the Sox go anyway? What market could support a MLB team? Charlotte? DC? Vegas? Portland?

Just thinking about a what if. We would be the largest solo market. Would we be Boston and an over $100 million payroll.

I guess the flip side if would the Sox have a higher payroll in Vegas?

I had thought about this earlier. If chicago had only had on team throughout it's history, I wonder how many championshiops we would have won? 10-20-30?

Boston hasn't won any in a while and they are a big market.

New York had two teams, and they're already a major market.

But thats a little different, I suppose.

Not only no, but HELL NO. The ongoing arguing between Sox and Cub fans have been going on for over a century, now. It's become a Chicago tradition. Chicago wouldn't be Chicago without it.

If the Flubbs ever left town then crime would automatically go up 20% in the city of Chicago. Think about it. 40,000 drunken losers running around the streets of the North Side with nowhere to go and nothing to do. It's a recipie for trouble. Best to keep both teams.

Yeah, they have twice the population base to draw from.

With foresight like that, you should run for mayor! :headbang
