June 22, 200421 yr If the Sox do win today, than they’ll be just half a game behind first place since the Twins have the day off.
June 22, 200421 yr Tonight is another example of why the Sox should either call up Borchard, or trade him before he's 40 yrs old. Even with Maggs out, there's no excuse to be playing Timo against a tough lefty. Borchard's switch hitting would help us out in many situations. Yeah, Borchard could help us a lot now
June 22, 200421 yr Looks like Shoeney's good start was more aberration then revelation. When you don't throw strikes while you don't have great stuff to begin with, sustained success is unlikely. I hope I'm wrong, but I think the Schoeneweis that we are seeing now is the Schoeneweis we should expect for the rest of the season. Then again, I thought Koch was going to turn it around this year. is that the Schoeneweis of the 1st inning or the Schoeneweis of the 2nd inning? while personally I have never ever in baseball seen a pitcher give up 3 runs in an inning until Schoeneweis did it tonight, I still it is too early to trash on him
June 22, 200421 yr That was a strike... High IMO... Anyways - Rowand has earned a CF platoon spot against lefties, once Mags gets back. Harris/Rowand should be our two headed monster. Also - I know Sandy catches the lefties, but Olivo should be starting when there's a lefty on the mound.
June 22, 200421 yr Crede K's. Valentin lined out before - damn, talk about taking the wind out of our sails. A rip by Valentin, but right at the RFer. Then Crede strikes out. A potentially big inning will now probably go for not.
