July 7, 200421 yr Great, we're gonna be 1.5 out... That is what you said and i think you deserve to called an idiot for saying that. We are done by two runs in the sixth. :headshake True, but we can (and hopefully will) come back. All I meant to say is that if we DO lose, we'll be 1.5 back. There's no need to flame.
July 7, 200421 yr Yes, very from the hip... Kind of like giving a guy $27 million after one start. If that's not putting all your money in one start I don't know what is.
July 7, 200421 yr Ill check out my window. yup the sky's still there. Rumors of its death have been greatly exaggerated, as usual. Not to sound TOO optimistic, but will some of you just LISTEN to yourselves?

I am not it was just a foolish thing to say at this point of the game. If we were losing 9-1 int the sixth i would not care whatsoever, nut i just do not like when someone is being pesimistic.

Garcia's been in MLB since 1999. We didn't give him the contract based on what he did soley in the Minnesota start. He's been proven over the years; he's one of the better starters in the league. Garcia was going to demand much more on the open market. I guess this team can never make the fans happy. People were pissed that we didn't keep Colon, etc. Now we finally lock up one of those acquistions, and now everyone's pissed that we signed him because he lost one game?!? Now that's just lame.

The funny thing is he has not even lost a game yet in a sox uniform.

He hasn't even lost tonight, and I am happy with the extension based on his track record - I think we need it. At the same time, I wish we'd have been able to get something worked out with Magglio after 6+ years of service (to US, not just MLB). I do think Magglio and his agents are being stubborn and at the same time would like to see the fine print in the offer.
