Miles has no range defensively at 2B, and he has no speed.

 

Uribe's worked out just fine. Miles was sucking ass in April and May, and Uribe was not. That was exactly when we needed Uribe the most. If not for Uribe's help in April and May, we may not be where we are right now. He helped spark this team.

 

I'm glad KW made the trade. It has worked out for us, and it has worked out for the Rockies.

There's a reason he was still in AAA at the age of 27. As was mentioned, he doesn't have much range, speed, or power. If he isn't hitting, he doesn't have much value. Uribe is faster and stronger, has more range, a better arm, and is only 24. He's probably not as good a contact hitter, but he offers a lot more.

IIRC, we have one series in August against a team above .500(one or two anyways).  The Twins have one series in August against a team below.

 

We could easily finish 10-20 games above .500.  Another bat will be brought in to replace Thomas for the next 8 weeks, and the pitching will step up. 

 

This is the time last year when the team really caught fire.  That is, after they lost 10-9 against Detroit.

 

The division is definately ours to lose still.

Finally someone comes through with something other than blatant pessimism. Jeez-us. We lose a couple of games and the sky starts falling for some people here.

We could get the next Joe Dimaggio in a trade and there'd still be people on this board bashing KW for it. Just dont pay attention.

Where were you in April and May? Uribe>Miles. Better D, more versitaile, younger, and eventually a better stick.
