AngelasDaddy0427
The Oakland series is over. It can only get better from here. Lets just hope that we don't end up having to play them in the offseason. and GO SOX!
CubKilla
Nobodies panicking. It isn't like '04 is mirroring '02 and '03 or anything like that!

hammerhead johnson
Lets just hope that we don't end up having to play them in the offseason. Don't worry, Jeckle. We won't be playing anyone in the offseason. Maybe in the postseason?

Lets just hope that we don't end up having to play them in the offseason. and GO SOX! I'm so sick of people saying not to panic. Nobody's panicking - it's baseball for Pete's sake. But let's face it - the Sox offense sucks and it's not just Oakland pitching causing it. There isn't any way to look at Crede, Uribe, Borchard, Davis, Burke and Maggs right now and see any hits. Maggs will come around eventually - probably a week or two - but the other guys are .100 hitters for the rest of the season.
Chisoxfn
I'm not about to panic. The team has some solid starters, good bats, and is playing banged up right now. Once Maggs gets his timing back and with Everett in the lineup, this team should do better. I do think Willie needs to be playing everyday at the top of the order. He can really set things up and I think could fire the Sox back into an offensive attack, mixed with the other bats. The Sox play poorly in Oakland, I'm glad to see them out of there. Texas will be tough though, especially with Scho pitching out their. It will be key to get good pitching, but the Sox will also have to get out of that offensive funk as well as play good baseball. Rangers are a good ballclub. I'd like to see them finish this road trip strongly.
aboz56
One positive is the Rangers have two of their worst starters going when we face them....
CubKilla
long time no see..... how is it going killa. Not bad. Good to see one of the older posters is back here. But what's going on? You leave and Baggio shows up. Then you come back to post and Baggio is MIA.

Yea, if he sucks again, I'm all for the Felix Diaz circle change show to come back to the Southside.

Agreed, that or seeing the Sox acquire another starter. With Everett on his way, the only additions I see left should be pitching wise. The catchers aren't great, but they are all solid behind the plate, and frankly, the rest of the offense should be able to do alright. Pitching on the other hand, you can never have too much of. Borchard is a fill-in at this point, he won't be around much longer. Maggs and Everett will be at RF and DH respectively, not to mention Everett's being a switch-hitter will help out our offense vs. right handers. As for Davis being a .100 hitter - I'd kill for .100 out of him at this point. We could really use another catcher, hopefully that is on Kenny's checklist as the Deadline dwindles by. YASNY
And the Sox got one of their worse. I hope Scho can get his ass back on a roll. Just my luck, too. I set my sights on, and got tickets for this game months ago. Do I get to see Buehrle, Garcia or even Garland? No. Schoeneweis.

Crede is hitting .152 for July - so, OK, I exagerated a little bit. As for killing if Davis hits .100, have you met qwerty? Maybe Ben will go on a little tear?
