I just heard a rumor from a friend of mine that the former Chicago Bear Tom Thayer is gay. Is this true? Has anyone else ever heard this? I have nothing agaisnt gay people, I was just shocked to hear this rumor and I have never heard it before. Anyone?

i don't think so, he doesn't seem like the type to be gay so i really have no idea. if he is or isn't I don't care he was a good solid player for our bears

Here's an interesting story that has some relevance here. (Heard it from Kevin Matthews' show a long time ago!)

 

In the 80s, Thayer was hanging out at a bar in LA, he was approached by Raymond Burr (Perry Mason), and propositioned by Burr. That's why Kevin used to use a Raymond Burr voice when mocking gay men.

 

BTW...I don't think Thayer is gay, not that it matters!

Closing this thread. Whether gay or not it doesn't matter. I realize SSI wasn't trying to start something, but I don't see where any good comes out of accusing or asking whether such and such athletes are gay.
