YASNY
.... for this line in today's column. A young gun with a 95 mph fastball and a wicked changeup, Santana is showing no signs of changing his evil ways, baby. It actually shows some signs of a functioning brain and a hint of wit. SkokieSox
Everyone knows that, and besides, Mariotti is an expert in areas that give the Sox problems, both real and fiction.
NUKE_CLEVELAND
Everyone knows that, and besides, Mariotti is an expert in areas that give the Sox problems, both real and fiction. Add to that the way he continues to delude himself and his readers into thinking the Flubbs have a chance in hell of winning when you have St. Louis running away with the division and having owned them all season. I was just about to say, you know a guy is a real idiot when you have to give him props for basically saying Johan Santana is good.

kapkomet
Carlos... Santana... Evil... Ways... lala lala lala ... ok, I'm bored and don't want to work. But I better. I have a mountain project due. /back to original thread programming
FlaSoxxJim
I was just about to say, you know a guy is a real idiot when you have to give him props for basically saying Johan Santana is good. the props were for the music culture ref, not recognizing Santana's talent. I gotta admit that was a lollypop ref though that even my decidedly non-musical wife also basically made while watching the game. Also, I still think Jay looks like Fatty Arbuckle. DBAHO
Santana's going to get a HUGE raise this offseason, the Twinkies are going to have major payroll problems, hence why they are trading Doug Mientkiewicz.

kapkomet
Actually, that stuff (programming) is my "side job" - I have my own business for which I do those types of things (web hosting, web page development, databases, etc). My "day job" is a financial analyst (controller, basically). ... But isn't it amazing that I am working on a data conversion for a system, and I'm a financial (business) analyst? How do I get roped into all this IT crap? Just lucky I guess.

It's not really hard, you just have to know what to do, or else figure out what you have to do. Still, despite having to do a bit of everything, I'd think owning your own business is well worth it. kapkomet
I'm trying to make a go of it. This year is actually looking pretty good... Maybe one day I can get out of this 8 to 8 s*** and do it all for myself and not some other company. That's the plan anyway.

Ain't that the truth. I can't stand the guy like most other people. I basically don't watch Around the Horn anymore because of that idiot. By 'the man himself,' you mean a mutant two-headed Buster Keaton? And though Fatty, er, Roscoe, knew how to play 'hide the champaigne bottle' as well as anyone, thatmay not be the best reason to respect him. Kid Gleason
O/T for just a second more... "Man Himself" is Roscoe. Best bud would be the God known as Buster. Arbuckle was innocent man, 100% innocent. Now Mariotti is not so innocent of being an idiot. Amazing how much I have grown to dislike him. I won't even listen to his commercials. :puke

Kid Gleason
Woah, not sure what you have been reading. The only murder Arbuckle was ever accused of was the death of Virginia Rappé at a party. Chaplin was nowhere to be found. link: http://www.silent-movies.com/Arbucklemania/Bio.html Chaplin and all of them were quite good friends. There were rumours of not getting along between Chaplin and Keaton, but those only came about from the set of The Limelight which was Chaplins last great film, and was released in 1952 as both men had reached the ends of their careers. Sorry to step off the B-Ball topic, but this has GOT to be better than talking about that idiot columnist.

I'd do it myself, but the Powers Dat B. don't trust me enough to run amok over here with God-like Mod powers... Anyway, Kid, meet me over at the "Roscoe Files" for the big news... Texsox
Actually Mariotti is smooth, and he's a hot one, like seven inches from a midday sun. And after todays game I find myself singing I had a dream But it turned to dust What I thought was love That must have been lust I was living in style When the walls fell in
