Ryan Sweeney was the Sox 2nd round pick in the 2003 draft. Sweeney entered the draft as one of the top high school hitting prospects, but also as one of the better pitching prospects in the draft. Sweeney would slide to the 2nd round due to signing concerns, but the Sox scouts gauged his interest and knew he wanted to play professional baseball. I have a feeling this kid is going to establish a nice career in the future.

I'm thinking he will be starting in 2006. The Sox brass are drooling over this guy and can't wait for him to come up.

Is there any chance of him getting moved up to AA this year? I'd say 2006 also but only if he does get moved up this year. I just think this organization takes their time with sending people up to the big leagues.

I doubt they will risk having him finish on a sour note in AA, but it is definately a possibility.

 

Its more likely that he'll stay in Winston Salem the rest of the year though.
